Malaysia Tourist Visa: Return Ticket and Lodging Rules
The Immigration Department of Malaysia requires all foreign visitors entering for tourism or social visits to hold confirmed return or onward flight tickets alongside documented accommodation.
Malaysia Digital Arrival Card (MDAC)
All foreign travelers must complete the online MDAC (Malaysia Digital Arrival Card) before landing at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA/KLIA2). The MDAC requires you to disclose:
- Your inbound flight number and date of arrival.
- Your outbound/return flight date and flight number.
- Your accommodation address in Malaysia (hotel or residence).
Border Verification at KLIA
Immigration officers at KLIA conduct spot checks on return flight reservations. Arriving without a verifiable outbound ticket or with an expired booking reference can result in refusal of entry (Not to Land - NTL notice).
