China Tourist Visa (L Visa): Flight & Hotel Guidelines
Applying for a Chinese Tourist Visa (Category L) through the Chinese Visa Application Service Center (CVASC) or Chinese diplomatic missions requires providing verified travel arrangements.
Article 6 of Chinese Visa Regulations
Under standard Chinese visa application guidelines, Category L applicants must provide documents showing the itinerary including air ticket booking record (round trip) and proof of a hotel reservation, OR an official invitation letter issued by an entity or individual inside China.
What Qualifies as an 'Air Ticket Booking Record'?
- A round-trip flight itinerary confirming passenger names, flight numbers, and dates into cities like Beijing (PEK/PKX), Shanghai (PVG), or Guangzhou (CAN).
- The booking does not need to be an issued e-ticket receipt; an active reservation with an airline PNR is accepted by CVASC caseworkers.
- Hotel vouchers must cover the entire stay in China matching the entry and exit dates on the flight itinerary.
Avoiding Discrepancies
Ensure that all names match your passport precisely. If traveling across multiple Chinese provinces, hotel vouchers for each city must align with your itinerary to ensure swift visa approval.
