Greece Tourist Visa: Flight Reservation & Island Hopping Accommodation

Greece Tourist Visa: Flight and Hotel Requirements

From the historic Acropolis in Athens to the serene islands of Santorini and Mykonos, Greece is a dream holiday destination. When applying for a Greece Schengen Visa, consular officials pay particular attention to multi-destination island itineraries.

Flight Reservation Rules for Greece

Greek consulates require a confirmed round-trip flight reservation showing arrival in Greece (usually Athens - ATH or Thessaloniki - SKG) and return departure. Applicants do not need to buy final tickets; a verifiable GDS dummy ticket with an active PNR is accepted at all Greek visa application centers (GVCW, VFS, or consular offices).

Island Hopping Accommodation Proof

• Continuous Lodging: If spending 3 nights in Athens, 3 nights in Crete, and 2 nights in Santorini, you must provide separate hotel vouchers for each destination without gap days.
• Domestic Transit: While domestic ferry tickets are not always mandatory during initial submission, mentioning domestic flight or ferry itineraries in your cover letter demonstrates high credibility.

Financial Adequacy

Greece requires proof of sufficient financial resources (€50 per day with a minimum of €300 for stays up to 5 days). Cohesive hotel and flight bookings substantiate your declared travel budget.
